Phase one
Pain
Calm the pain down.
Hands-on techniques calm the irritated nerve and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
What We Treat
The stiffness when you stand up from the couch. The twinge down your leg that decides whether today’s a good day. It’s fixable, and it starts with a cause-first evaluation, not a guess.

Why It Happens
Your back doesn’t hurt for no reason. And it’s almost never just one thing. It’s usually some mix of a few culprits: an irritated disc or nerve root sending pain down your leg. Spinal joints that got stiff and stopped sharing the load. Deep stabilizing muscles that quietly weakened after your last flare-up. And daily habits, how you sit, bend, and lift, that keep reloading the same spot before it heals.
None of that shows up on a quick glance. It takes a real, cause-first evaluation to sort out which one is actually driving your pain. That’s why rest, ice, or a generic stretching sheet so often falls short: they treat the symptom, not the source. Find the real cause, and the fix gets obvious.
The Honest Truth
You’re the one who fixes everything else first. That’s exactly why this is still here. Put yourself on the list, starting with an evaluation.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what the four phases look like for a low back.
Phase one
Pain
Hands-on techniques calm the irritated nerve and take the edge off inflammation, starting your very first visit.
Phase two
Prime
Targeted mobility work restores motion in the stiff segments that have been quietly guarding the injury.
Phase three
Perform
Progressive core and hip strengthening builds the stability your spine was missing in the first place.
Phase four
Prevent
Lifting, bending, and twisting mechanics get tested under real load before you’re cleared to go all-in: that’s the endpoint, not just another appointment.
I had experienced back pain before but it went a way, this last time was different and it impacted my day and life in a way that I needed help. By the end of the first session he was able to tell me my history of back pain and could identify root causes of my new pain. By the third session my pain was effectively gone and as of my most recent session my mobility has never been better.

Questions, Answered
Usually not, and it’s rarely the first step. Most low back pain improves without imaging, and a scan often shows disc bulges and general wear and tear in people who have zero pain at all, so it doesn’t always point to the real cause. We start with a hands-on evaluation to find what’s actually driving your symptoms, and if imaging ever becomes genuinely necessary, we’ll help you get it. You don’t have to wait on a scan to start feeling better.
Yes, in most cases movement helps more than rest does. Hurt doesn’t always mean harm, total rest tends to make a back stiffer and weaker, which sets up the next flare-up. The key is dosing the right movement for your specific back, which is exactly what a Doctor of PT sorts out at your evaluation, then progresses safely as you improve.
How fast you feel a change depends on what is driving the pain and how long it has been going on, and you’ll get an honest estimate at your evaluation. A full plan for low back pain runs through all four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform, and Prevent. Either way, you get a plan with an endpoint: you’ll always know which phase you’re in and what’s left, not an open-ended string of appointments.
